MIKEL GELLATLY
Founder and Principal
Mikel is also a Capability Manager at Lives Lived Well, where he leads workforce development initiatives, ensuring staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver effective, person-centred care. His career has been shaped by a commitment to program development, workforce capability building, and the implementation of evidence-based practice across health and social service settings.
A member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) since 2017, Mikel delivers Motivational Interviewing (MI) training to professionals across Australia and Singapore, working with healthcare, social services, and leadership teams to enhance their communication and engagement skills. His training approach is practical, engaging, and grounded in real-world experience, equipping professionals with the tools to create meaningful, lasting change.
Beyond his professional credentials, Mikel brings a deep personal understanding of addiction and recovery. Having navigated his own journey, he offers a unique blend of lived experience and clinical expertise, giving him a profound appreciation for the challenges individuals face and the nuances of effective support. This perspective informs his workshops, coaching, and consultancy, ensuring that those he trains gain insights that are both academically rigorous and deeply human.
Mikel continues to develop and deliver MI training across diverse professional domains, with a strong focus on addiction treatment, leadership, healthcare and social services communication, and the integration of MI in peer workforces.
